NURSERY SCHOOL

There is NO free Nursery Education (or any other) in East Africa.

In January 2007, Abundance Ministries in Kenya launched their own "Abundance Nursery School". This School is established to provide an essential foundation for very young children, and a 'Sure Start' in life.

The School has three sections, "Baby class", "Nursery" and "Pre-School Unit" and is headed by our General Manager, Senior Pastor Caroline Akinyi. Caroline is assisted by four dedicated Teachers' selected for potential and aptitude:
The school has 67 children with a capacity for 75 children aged 4 to 7 years. There are currently 24 Orphans who are sponsored, but many more orphaned children are waiting for sponsors and are excluded from school until they are found.

Caroline obtained her Teacher's Training College (TTC) Early Child Development (ECD) Qualification from the ECD Course at the Migori Teacher Training College. She is now in the final year of her TTC/ECD Diploma Course, two teachers are in training on their ECD Certificate Course in 2010.

At present; salaries, teaching materials and College costs are paid from the General Fund - which puts a strain on our finances. Thus, we seek Sponsors to assist with the costs of training teachers. You would touch the lives of many young children and give them a start in life, by assisting in this way

The Nursery School meets in a large rented house at present but we are looking to construct our own permanent building with four classrooms, offices, kitchen, etc, subject to finances being available (C. £20,000=). Plans have been completed by a Kenyan architect.
